An Oscilloscope, also known as O-scope, is a complex electronic laboratory instrument commonly used to capture, process, display and analyse the waveform and bandwidth of electronic signals. The device draws a graph of the instantaneous signal voltage as a function of time. O-scopes is an analyzer of a signal that comes from a signal generator.

Oscilloscopes are used in the sciences, medicine, engineering, automotive and the telecommunications industry. General-purpose instruments are used for maintenance of electronic equipment and laboratory work. Special-purpose oscilloscopes may be used for such purposes as analyzing an automotive ignition system or to display the waveform of the heartbeat as an electrocardiogram.

There are 2 types of oscilloscopes: Analogue & Digital Oscillioscope
The difference between an analog oscilloscope and a digital oscilloscope is that in an analog device the waveform is shown in the original form, while a digital oscilloscope converts the original analog waveform by sampling it and converts them into digital numbers and then stores them in digital format.

Pair it with a Function generator to supply signal sources which provide a specifiable voltage applied over a specifiable time, such as a “sine wave” or “triangle wave” signal. ...
